What began as a routine evening on the farm turned into one of the most painful nights Jenny and Dave Marrs say they will never forget.
On February 7, Jenny Marrs took to Instagram Stories with what first seemed like an ordinary farm update. After returning home from basketball, the family discovered their sheep, BaaBaa, appearing to be in labor.
“We came home from basketball to find BaaBaa in labor!” Jenny wrote.
At first, the situation didn’t seem dire. BaaBaa had been stuck upside down, and after flipping her over, Jenny even joked that they weren’t sure if she was in labor “or just overweight at this point.”

“Haha we are always learning!!!” she added lightly, sharing that they were giving the sheep electrolytes and expressing gratitude for attentive neighbors.
But the tone shifted quickly.
As the hours passed, it became clear something was very wrong.
Later that night, Jenny revealed that BaaBaa required an emergency C-section performed in Dave’s barn after the family realized she was in severe distress. What they didn’t know until that moment was that BaaBaa was carrying quadruplets.
“Going to bed heartbroken,” Jenny wrote.
“We didn’t know BaaBaa was actually pregnant with quadruplets. Our vet had to make an emergency visit… Emergency c-section in Dave’s barn … four beautiful, perfect babies and we lost them all.”
“Our best girl, BaaBaa, and all four babies. All gone. We are devastated.”
Despite the efforts of their veterinarian, a devoted neighbor, Jenny, Dave, and even their daughter Charlotte, the outcome did not change. They fought to save the lambs.
“We tried so hard to save them,” Jenny shared. “We fought. They fought. I’ll never forget this night.”
She later revealed just how far they went.
“Ever given mouth to mouth to a newborn lamb? Well I have now. And I’d do it again if there was even the slightest chance it would work.”
The emotional weight of the moment extended beyond the loss itself. Jenny shared that the night also reminded them deeply of their late neighbor, Mr. Bob.
“As we all cried and prayed together afterwards, we also cried a little more because of how much we missed Mr. Bob tonight. He would have been right here beside us.”
By the end of the night, exhaustion had fully set in.
“Gosh farm life is not for the faint of heart. I’m weary tonight. Very very weary.”
The following day, Dave Marrs addressed the loss more directly in a video shared on February 8. He explained the impossible decision they faced.
“This is a no-win situation,” Dave wrote. “If the babies make it, the mom doesn’t. But if you don’t make that decision, they all could die.”
Even after over an hour of resuscitation attempts, they were unable to save BaaBaa or her four lambs.
“Raising animals is hard, so hard,” Dave reflected. “Sometimes even after trying to make the best decision available, you still lose. But it is also so fulfilling.”
Fans flooded the comments with prayers and messages of support, many acknowledging how deeply the Marrs family cares for their animals.
For viewers who have watched Jenny and Dave build their Arkansas farm life on Fixer to Fabulous, this loss serves as a reminder of what farm life truly entails — beauty and birth, but also unpredictability and heartbreak.
And this time, heartbreak won.
