Hallmark Star Yan Kay Crystal Lowe Battles Stage Three Breast Cancer Amidst Grueling Treatments and Triumphant Return to Set
In a heart wrenching saga of resilience and vulnerability, Hallmark actress and director Yan Kay Crystal Lowe faces the fight of her life against stage three breast cancer.

Diagnosed in October, Lowe has endured months of debilitating chemotherapy, her body pushed to the brink, only to confront a bilateral mastectomy scheduled for February 19, 2026.
Yet in a defiant twist, she has returned to the set, clinging to her passion as a lifeline amid the storm.
On February 10, 2026, Lowe shared a video from her trailer, her smile masking the turmoil within. Donning a white winter hat over her chemo ravaged scalp, she declared, “I’m still here! Still trucking!”
Her words, laced with emotion, reveal excitement for work clashing with the dread of impending surgery. “Getting ready for surgery is a mind trip,” she confessed.
Lowe described filming as a needed distraction from her reality. “I desperately needed this as a distraction from everything going on in the world and the fact that I have cancer still,” she revealed.
Having completed chemo in January, she now braces for the double mastectomy, removing the tumor in her right breast and her left for symmetry and to reduce recurrence risks.

“I’m so sad to lose my boobs and also so happy to get rid of this cancer,” Lowe admitted, expressing the complexity of her emotions.
Pathology reports after surgery will determine the next steps, with radiation already considered essential by her medical team.
Fans and fellow actors have rallied around her. When Calls the Heart star Andrea Brooks praised her bravery, while Fiona Gubelmann, Tamera Mowry Housley, and General Hospital’s Finola Hughes shared messages of support.
Despite the looming surgery, Lowe continues working. She is in Vancouver for the next Hannah Swensen Mysteries film, Kitchen Expert, directing during this challenging period.
In December, between chemotherapy sessions, she filmed All For Christmas with Jesse Kove and Whitney Leavitt, demonstrating her continued dedication to her craft.
